LG washing machine repair Ottawa
The list of the common problems of LG washing machines:
No drain, no spin, doesn’t start the cycle:
When the LG washing machine can’t drain water, it doesn’t start the cycle or stops in the middle. It could be caused by a clogged or broken pump or blocked drain hoses. The front-loading models will display the OE error code. Usually, we need to remove the front of the washer to get access to the pump.
The drum doesn’t turn properly (LE error code).
When the cycle starts, the drum vibrates, and the error code LE appears. This is one of the common problems with the motor of LG front-loading washing machines. I prepared a separate page for this issue.
Leaks.
Leaking door seals or drain hoses are widespread problems. The door seal costs about $120-$180, depending on the model.

Main problems of the LG dryer
Loud noise.
This noise comes from the drum support rollers or a fan blower. To prevent this issue, don’t overload the dryer.
There is no heat.
The LG dryer’s heating element is much more durable than its Samsung competitors. I have never replaced it. The thermofuse on the heating element is the only thing that could be broken. To prevent the issue from repeating, we must check that the ventilation duct is not clogged.
The LG dryer is overheating (HE error code).
This problem is usually related to the dryer’s thermostat.

Unfortunately, LG fridges often have compressor issues (read the paragraph below). LG could provide a 10-year warranty for their compressors. We can professionally diagnose your LG refrigerator and install the compressor if needed.
The average compressor replacement cost, including the materials and the compressor, is about $800 (2025). It could be more if you want us to install the original inverter compressor.
LG refrigerator does not provide sufficient cooling in the freezer and the fresh food compartment.
The temperature will be around -5°C in the freezer and around +10-15°C in the fresh food compartment. Unfortunately, it is a common problem related to the LG compressor issue (faulty compressor). Usually, the compressor doesn’t stop working, but it can’t provide sufficient freon pressure. If you open the lower panel at the back of the fridge and touch the compressor, you can feel that it is running and vibrating but very hot. So you can’t keep your hand on it. This description of a faulty compressor is typical of the LG refrigerator. About 80% of low-cooling LG refrigerators have this issue.
The refrigerator compressor doesn't start
The fridge won’t cool at all. Usually, you will hear the “clicks” sounds every few minutes. The usual cause of this problem is a compressor start relay. The compressor will be very hot and won’t vibrate. The technician will check the resistance on the electrical exits of the compressor to verify every motor winding. If the values are normal and there is no short circuit, we need to replace the start relay and try to run the fridge again. If it doesn’t work, the compressor is stuck. That means any parts inside the compressor are broken mechanically. For example, an electric motor, pistons, pushing freon throughout the cooling system, or their valves. In this case, we must replace the compressor and recharge the system. This malfunction is widespread among all refrigerator brands.
Evaporation fan malfunction
The LG refrigerator has one or two fans, which could stop running or be noisy. Sometimes the problem is not with the fan, but it stops because of ice building in the evaporator.
Freon leaking problem
If the compressor is the heart of the fridge, freon is its blood, providing cooling power. The cooling system is sealed, but freon could leak because of the small cracks in the tubes. When there is a freon deficiency, the temperature in the refrigerator will go down slowly because the pressure in the system is too low. According to environmental laws, charging the cooling system if there is a freon leakage is prohibited. Freon is a greenhouse gas, damaging the ozone layer of the Earth. This is why the cooling system should be checked thoroughly before recharging the freon. The leakage spot should be found and repaired. The old freon shouldn’t be released into the atmosphere, but collected and brought to the recuperation.
